Hispanic-African organisation for the rights of children and women - Orhia. Non-profit association to represent the partners that make up the association before public authorities and private entities.
Africa is the continent with the highest poverty rates in the world. Countless armed conflicts, political instability, droughts of large territories and high levels of corruption are some of the causes of this situation.
In Africa, two out of every three children are poor and are extremely vulnerable, especially in countries where armed conflicts multiply, and there exist instability and situations of humanitarian emergency.
Poor children in Africa face numerous obstacles in their everyday lives. The lack of basic resources for their survival, but in particular the conditions of vulnerability and the non-observance of their fundamental rights, give rise to other, much more serious problems associated with poverty: physical and mental retardation, proliferation of diseases, high levels of orphanhood, forced recruitment and abuses ...
Our work is to provide basic assistance to children in areas such as health care, security, food, protection and, especially, education. This last issue is essential for them to regain their childhood and acquire new tools for survival.
We work with boys, girls and women to help them break the generational cycle of poverty and ensure respect for their rights.
